MSUAS RUGBY PIONEERS PARTICIPATE IN A DEBUT TOURNAMENT
Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences men’s rugby team, flew the University flag in a rugby tournament that was held at Mutare Sports Club earlier this month.
The tournament gave MSUAS Pioneers an opportunity to associate with rugby experts and among the participants were Mutare Sports Club Team A and B, Africa University, Talon’s Rugby Club and Zimbiru.
The team demonstrated an exceptional performance despite being their first participation in a tournament of rugby giants as they competed in five matches across the day, scoring some wonderful tries as well as playing some scintillating rugby.
Coach to the team, Mr Abraham Muchingami, a lecturer in the Department of Tourism commented the performance of MSUAS Pioneers as highly exceptional.
“We had a blast and the day was a fantastic experience considering that it was our first competitive outing as a team. I would like to say a huge thank you to the team for the co-operation and I give credit to everyone that has contributed to the brilliant initiative of the tournament,” sai
The University remains committed to outside classroom learning activities and highly regards sport as an integral health component in the psycho-social system of students and staff.
